Job Description: |
A broad working knowledge of all phases of SCADA System Master Station and Substation SCADA Equipment Installation and commissioning, consisting of Servers, Front End Processors, Workstations, Displays,
Remote Terminal Units, Interface to Telecom Equipment, and all Associated SCADA Software Applications.
Ability to read and interpret SCADA System, Telecom, LAN, WAN, and RTU Drawings.
Knowledge of all types of SCADA installation equipment and methods, and of stages in installation when possible violations and defects may most easily be observed and corrected.
Previous experience in SCADA projects to include review of SCADA installation documents, monitoring project milestones, and documenting contractor change orders.
Knowledge of safety hazards arising from faulty installations and of methods whereby they may be avoided or remedied.
Knowledge of materials, tools, methods and techniques used in SCADA installation trades, and of methods and tests employed to determine proper SCADA System design and operation.
Working knowledge on RTU Installation, Testing and Commissioning through local Protocol simulators and through the SCADA Master Station.
Working knowledge on Energy Management System (EMS) Software such as Automatic Generation Control (AGC) and other Advanced Power Application programs.
Ability to detect SCADA Installation faults and to appraise conditions for quality of installation and physical depreciation.
Ability to read and interpret SCADA System plans quickly and accurately and compares them with installation in progress.
Ability to analyze technical and interpretive problems and make final decisions. |
